SAPS kick-off

February 12, 2015, SAPS (Sciences Animales Paris Saclay) kick-off seminar

As part of the stimulating context of the creation of the Université Paris-Saclay, seven INRAE research units from the southern part of the Ile-de-France region, in partnership with AgroParisTech, l'Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d'Alfort (ENVA), Anses and three core facilities have joined forces as the Institut Sciences Animales Paris-Saclay.

What selection for tomorrow's farming? What are the environmental impacts on the expression of animal genomes and phenotypes? What new strategies for health? How do we predict and build models? What relations between the biology of farm animals and model animals for man?

Associating a research collective of more than 600 people and shared experimental facilities, SAPS has the ambition of developing innovative pluridisciplinary research, to initiate new private-public partnerships, to reinforce the offer of training in the Animal Sciences and to promote the links between farm and animal models. The objectives of SAPS teams are to contribute to the sustainability of breeding systems and progress in biomedicine, in an evolving economic, environmental and societal framework.
