TEFOR Paris-Saclay joins the Paris-Saclay Technology Park

TEFOR Paris-Saclay joins the Paris-Saclay Technology Park: new services and perspectives for 2022

At the beginning of October, the UAR TEFOR Paris-Saclay (TPS) moved to its new facilities at the Paris-Saclay Neuroscience Institute. These new facilities will allow TPS to develop new activities beginning in 2022. The regulatory authorities of the UAR are the CNRS, INRAE and the University Paris-Saclay.

TPS: a reference center for the use of aquatic models in research

TPS now has a 1600 m2 aquatic basin located within the new building of the Paris-Saclay Neurosciences institute located on the CEA Saclay campus.

Today, the experimental facility is hosting its first zebra-fish (Danio rerio), Astyanax mexicanus and Xenopus laevis and Xenopus tropicalis farms. In 2022, new aquatic models (cicclida and medakas) will join TPS' aquatic basin. The team will work on permanently optimizing and standardizing breeding practices through the improvement of animal welfare.

Increasing the scope of activities for 2022

New facilities means new development opportunities! One of the first objectives of our unit is to create a temporary center for scientists working with us so that our partners will have both working and experimental facilities available to them but also our know-how and the material necessary to carry forth their projects - aquatic breeding models, genome editing and/or phenotyping using imagery and data analysis.

In 2022 we will also be expanding our services and providing training sessions for users of aquatic models. The interactive catalogue of our services will be available at the beginning of next year on our web site which will also be taking advantage of our transformation to get a new look as well!
